Please Pray

A while back we were asked to visit and pray for a little 10 year-old girl named Yumzuu (a Buddhist name). Her grandmother is a believer and attends Christian Fellowship.

When we arrived at their small apartment, we saw a tiny child, less than half the normal body weight and mass of a healthy 10 year old, lying on the sofa. She had been this way for months, refusing to eat or drink.

When we asked the grandmother why the little girl was this way, she said that when her son and daughter-in-law divorced, Yumzuu went to live with her mother and step father and maternal grandfather. That was where the trouble started. Over the years it became apparent that the step father and maternal grandfather were abusing her physically (and we guessed sexually as well) while the mother was gone all day working. They habitually locked her up and starved her for days at a time.

When her distraught father and paternal grandmother heard of this they took the little girl and now have sole custody of her. They have brought her to doctor after doctor, seeking help for her. She is in deep shock and can barely talk. She cannot walk and will not eat. The look in her eyes conveys a total loss of hope and trust.

We prayed for her but she still needs a lot of prayer for the chains that bind her little heart and mind to be broken. She is so fragile and helpless but we know that God is almighty and wants to heal and restore her.

Also, her father is not a believer. Please pray that he will come to know Christ as a result of little Yumzuu's healing.
